Trisha jumped up from her chair. “What do you mean? I haven’t lied about anything. I’m asking you to arrest the man who threw my precious necklaces into a lake.” Her eyes became teary again.
Detective Lance had no tone of sympathy in his voice. “You said the necklaces all sunk to the bottom of the lake?”
“That’s right!” She said, stomping her foot.
“Well, I’ve never heard of wooden beads sinking into water. At least one necklace should have floated on top of the lake.”
Trisha opened her mouth to reply, but no words came out. She turned around and walked out of the police station, clicking her heels loudly and slamming the door behind her.
